If you’re planning on going to Disney World, you’re going to need a place to stay and if you can afford it, you might want to consider looking into staying at one of their Deluxe resorts. In this post we’ll go over four of the best deluxe Disney resorts.
#1 Ranked – Polynesian Village Resort
This deluxe resort is quite often called the top deluxe resort due to the detailed island theme that greets you the minute you walk into the lobby where guests are immediately greeted by being given a beautiful lei. Don’t think that the theme starts and ends in the lobby of the resort. This incredible theme can seen all through the resort palm trees everywhere. For example the Lava Pool actually has a volcano to add to the charm and it’s one of the best places to watch the beautiful fireworks from the Magic Kingdom.
The Atmosphere
This resort does a great job of transporting their guests instantly to a tropical Polynesian island and in a very family/kid friendly fashion. It immediately helps guests feel relaxed and at the same time very excited about exploring all of what the resort offers, from the great dining to all the great activities and resort amenities.
The Accommodations
Nearly all the rooms at this resort sleep up to five people, but, the prices of the rooms at the Polynesian really vary a lot with the most expensive one being almost three times more than the most affordable standard room. The biggest difference in the rooms is if they are “club level” and of course the different views. They also offer over the water bungalows that sleep up to eight people, have a full on kitchen, their own private decks, a plunge pool, and even a washer and dryer.
The Amenities
One of the best amenities offered at this resort is that it’s on the monorail route which takes guests quickly to both Epcot and the Magic Kingdom. Next is that it’s located very close to a good variety of some of the best dining opportunities in all of Disney World.
#2 Ranked – Yacht Club Resort
Many people believe the Yacht Club Resort is one of the best deluxe resorts for the family. One of the reasons for this is that they offer a ton of activities on the property and also near the property. With so many activities, guests simply can’t get bored. This resort was inspired by a yacht club you might find in New England which is complete with great nautical touches everywhere you go.
The Atmosphere
Their nautical theming is nicely polished and even a little bit exciting. Guests can immerse themselves in a posh atmosphere of a fancy New England yacht club. Guests also can get completely involved with all the fun that this resort offers and even enjoy a great day at a fun water park.
The Accommodations
This resorts offers guests rooms that accommodate 4 to 6 people. The prices will vary immensely just like the Polynesian depending on if it’s a club level room and what view the room has. One really neat thing about this resort is that it is dog friendly for those who don’t want to leave their dog at home.
The Amenities
When it comes to transportation, this resort is the best. One thing is that it’s within walking distance to Epcot and they offer the Skyliner to get you to where you need to go. So, it’s really quick and easy to get to the Magic Kingdom from this resort. As good as the transportation is, the best amenity of all is their Stormalong Bay which is a three acre water park that’s on the resort property. It’s a really amazing water park adventure that even includes a sandy bottom pool as well as a relaxing lazy river and a huge 230 foot long slide.
Let’s not forget the wonderful dining opportunities they have at this resort, especially their Beaches & Cream Soda Shop. This is a quaint and charming little ice cream shop that is also home to their famous “Kitchen Sink Sundae” which is five different kinds of ice cream and every single topping they have.
#3 Ranked – Beach Club Resort
This resort is next door to the Yacht Club and they actually share the same property together and many of the amenities are shared as well like Stormalong Bay and the great Beaches & Cream Soda Shop.
The Atmosphere
The theme at this resort lives up to it’s name and has more of a beach vibe than the posh Yacht Club. With that being said, both the Beach Club and Yacht Club are quite a bit a like when it comes to the overall atmosphere.
The Accommodations
This resort has a nice variety of rooms and they range from sleeping two people up to seven people. You also can then choose from their standard views, water views, or garden views. And like the other two resorts the prices will also vary quite a bit.
The Amenities
Beach Club and Yacht Club share most of the same amenities including the great forms of transportation choices, a wonderful choice of great dining and of course the great and fun Stormalong Bay water park.
#4 Ranked – BoardWalk Inn
Many who visit this resort come away thinking it’s one of the coolest and unique atmospheres of all the popular deluxe resorts. This is a waterfront resort and the building itself is based on both Coney Island and Atlantic City. This means that there’s a ton of things to do for guests.
The Atmosphere
The overall feel of this resort is inviting and fun with all the smells and activities you’d expect from a waterfront resort. The atmosphere is boosted with it’s carnival games, clubbing experiences and all the fantastic views that include the fireworks that come from Epcot.
The Accommodations
All of the rooms except for their outer building that sleep two people, sleep 5 to 6 guests. You can’t lose with the views because nearly all the rooms have views of the boardwalk and the Crescent Lake.
The Amenities
Transportation is yet another perk with access to the Skyliner that takes guests straight to Epcot and the Hollywood Studios park. Plus, they also have some other great thing like great pools, movies under the stars, mini-golf, fishing, tennis, activities around campfires, and their “Side Show Games Arcade”. They also have access to all kinds of great places to eat and enjoy some great entertainment.
