Anyone who has had the pleasure or luxury of staying at probably any of the Disney World resorts are going to tell you that none of their hotels are going to be bad. No matter whether it’s a value, moderate, or a deluxe. Every single one of their resort properties are all very well taken care, have expert themes and many offer standard perks like Disney transportation, early access for dining, their Magical Express, package delivery, magic bands, extra park hours, and more. So what then are the Deluxe Disney resorts benefits? So, if you can afford it can the Deluxe resort be worth it? Most say, yes. So let’s take a closer look at the Deluxe Disney resorts benefits.
Transportation Access
Even though every resort do offer some of the same perks, some of these same perks tend to be somewhat better at the deluxe resorts, for example access to Disney transportation. Nearly all of the deluxe resorts are found either on the Bay Lake or on their Boardwalk or on the shores of the Crescent Lake. Even though all of them have access to buses to all of the theme parks along with Disney Springs, the deluxe resorts also have access to two of the parks via ferries which usually run about every 15 to 20 minutes or so.
Even though the buses are great they can take a really long time to get to where you want to go and if you miss the bus, then you have to sit and wait for another one. However, with the option to take a relaxing boat ride can be a really fun thing to do.
On top of the boat transportation, deluxe resorts like the Polynesian, Contemporary, and the Grand Floridian offer the monorail to get to either Epcot or the Magic Kingdom. The monorail runs thirty minutes prior to the parks opening and continue one hour after they close. You can get to either one of these parks in just minutes by taking the monorail.
Activity Centers For Children
If you have kids and you feel the need to engage in a little bit of adult activities while there, you’ll need to find someplace safe and fun for your children. Well, the deluxe resorts offer five different activity centers for children that are fully supervised and are for kids ages 3 to 12 years old, this includes dinner.
Villa Rooms Offered
If you have a large party when visiting Disney World, a standard room really won’t cut it and that’s where the deluxe resorts come in at the top because they offer one, two, and three bedroom villas along with more than one bathroom, laundry unit, and a full on kitchen in many. This is great for families because it gives them more freedom to do as they wish, like when they’re home. It also gives family members to have their own space to themselves when needed. If you can afford these rooms they are well worth the money.
Signature Entertainment & Restaurants
Believe it or not, one of the greatest things about visiting Disney is their food and the variety of fine restaurants that are mainly found at the deluxe resorts. Of course, you don’t have to be a guest to dine in these places, but if you’re parents who want a fancy meal without the kids in tow, as a guest, you can drop the kids off at the activity center while you enjoy some fine dining in peace.
Another great benefit is that these resorts are just steps away from all types of great entertainment like Jellyrolls piano bar or the great Atlantic Dance Hall. If you love to go out and dancing it’s a lot more convenient to have it right outside of where you’re staying than taking a crowded bus ride over to another great place for entertainment, Disney Springs.
Extra Amenities
Even though all of the resorts offer guests access to different shops that offer basic supplies, quick service food, casual eateries, and last minute gift shopping, the deluxe resorts have far more amenities to offer such as:
- Fitness centers
- Spas
- Boat rentals
- Fishing opportunities
- Tennis
- Fancy shopping
- Full range of dining choices
- Bike & surrey bike rentals
- Mini-golf
The list can actually go on and on. Even though you don’t have to be a guest of a deluxe resort to partake in all of these amenities, you will more than likely do so if you are an actual guest there than someone else.
Offer Exclusive Perks
Even though most of their services are indeed available to all resort guests, there still are some perks that are only for guests who stay at certain deluxe resorts like some of their great pools. This would include the pools at the following resorts:
- Grand Floridian
- Polynesian Village
- Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Three acre sandy bottom pool and lazy river at both the Yacht & Beach Club
Guests are required to use their room keys in order to get access to these deluxe resort pools and even some of the deluxe resorts give wrist bands to guests to access the pools. Even though all resorts have their own pools, some of these deluxe pools tend to be a destination of their own.
Another special perk is the Animal Kingdom Lodge & Villas Wayanama Safari & Dinner which is only available to their guests. This offers a very private dining experience at the Jiko restaurant and then a fun private safari across the man-made savannas of the Animal Kingdom.
Rooms That Are Club Level
These rooms are only found at the deluxe resorts. These are super luxurious rooms and are always in the best parts of the resorts and have exclusive elevator use and probably some of the best room views. They also offer private concierge, DVD library, free breakfast, nighttime appetizers/snacks all day as well as free beverages including alcoholic drinks at night.
Locations
One of the best benefits of these resorts would be locations, except for the Animal Kingdom. All of the deluxe resorts are found on Bay Lake or Crescent Lake which gives guests the best views and a seaside atmosphere and all the activities that go with it.
