Here is a list of the eight different Disney Deluxe Resorts ranked by those who have experienced the different resorts. Just realize that even the lowest ranked of these are still top quality hotels.
#1 Ranked Polynesian Village Resort
2022 Standard Room Rates – $633 to $1106 per night.
Theme & Grounds
This is a huge hotel that has a central “Great Ceremonial House” along with 11 buildings, 20 Disney Vacation Club bungalows that are located along the water, and two pools. The theme is brilliant and very authentic Polynesian.
The Rooms
The rooms are sleek, functional and not overly decorated. The rooms are also have lots of room for guests to spread out. They have nice hardwood floors, have plenty of drawers and counter space, bathrooms are nice and big. The views are great whether it’s the garden view or the view of the Bay Lake.
Activities
They offer guests a standard schedule of activities to choose from that include trivia games, campfires, and movies under the stars each night. At the marina guests can rent a boat to go fishing or to just explore the Bay Lake and their Seven Seas Lagoon.
#2 Ranked Animal Kingdom Lodge
2022 Standard Room Rates – $450 to $790 per night.
Theme & Grounds
As for the theme and the grounds, they are outstanding, if you’re looking for a trip to Africa without going there, you’ll be there at this resort! The lobby at the lodge is probably one of the best lobbies ever, guests are treated with real African artifacts everywhere they look. The lobby is incredible with it’s wood and rock foundation all through it.
They probably have three of the five best places to eat out of all the resorts called Jiko, Sanaa, and Boma featuring plenty of interesting and unique types of food.
The Rooms
Their rooms are refurbished but they really don’t compare to the #1 ranked resort, they’re simply basic rooms and really don’t offer much of the charm that the rest of the resort does. But the views are incredible many overlooking the savanna where the animals roam free.
Activities
Just like all the resorts they have a variety of activities that include African arts and crafts, art tours, a ton of educational activities for kids and adults to even going on a real safari.
#3 Ranked Yacht Club Resort
2022 Standard Room Rates – $522 to $915 per night.
Theme & Grounds
The theme is that of a New England beach flair back in the day and they are part of a Boardwalk loop that is shared with Beach Club, Dolphin, Swan, and Boardwalk Inn, which guests can enjoy walking and visiting all of the different resorts in the area. The resort itself is quite small with just one building for rooms and another building that is the convention center. They share a pool with the Beach Club and considered one of the nicer pools and there is a really nice sandy beach and even a lazy river guests can enjoy.
Dining is actually unlimited since you can easily walk the Boardwalk Loop and dine at any of the places to eat at all of the resorts on the loop along with their own table service restaurants and quick service dining.
The Rooms
The rooms are nicely done in the theme of a New England area seaside resort and are sleek and modern. They aren’t all that spacious as some of the other resorts but have a fresh and clean feel.
Activities
Activities are pretty unlimited as well because you can explore all of the fun and interesting things that are offered on the Boardwalk Loop.
#4 Ranked Wilderness Lodge
2022 Standard Room Rates – $439 to $957 per night.
Theme & Grounds
The theme here is much like the Animal Kingdom Lodge with an incredible lobby that engulfs its guests with an outdoor wilderness look and excitement. Instead of African design it’s of the old west wilderness. There’s a huge fireplace in the lobby and even an indoor/outdoor stream. They offer great places to both grab a quick bite or sit down and enjoy all of which have the same outdoors rustic atmosphere.
The Rooms
All the rooms have that rustic cabin feel which flows quite well with the entire theme of the whole resort. The details found in much of the woodwork of the rooms are just incredible.
Activities
There’s plenty to do at this resort including campfires, nature walks, boating, and much more to keep everyone busy.
#5 Ranked Disney’s Contemporary Resort
2022 Standard Room Rates – $531 to $924 per night.
Theme & Grounds
This resort is closest to the Magic Kingdom and even has a walking path that takes you straight to it. The theme is pretty mute since it’s just basically meant to be one of contemporary and modern design. There’s really nothing special about it’s overall theme. It does have nice views of both the Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. For food and drink it’s pretty basic with the following: two table service, one buffet, one pool bar, one quick service and a coffee shop in the lobby.
The Rooms
The rooms basically are all very modern, sleek, and limited in design since they are all following the overall contemporary theme of the entire resort.
Activities
As all resorts, they offer a variety of activities from yoga to bingo from boating to campfires and s’mores.
#6 Ranked Boardwalk Inn
2022 Standard Room Rates – $574 to $980 per night.
Theme & Grounds
The basic theme here gives you the feel of Coney Island with a more whimsical flair. They are on the Boardwalk and they offer a variety of places to shop, eat, and enjoy games for the entire family to enjoy.
The Rooms
Their rooms are rather small but cozy and bright and cheery with whimsical accents that help the rooms to be on the cheery side.
Activities
They have plenty to do such as: bike rides, boating, campfires, carnival games and more.
#7 Ranked Beach Club Resort
2022 Standard Room Rates – $522 to $915 per night.
Theme & Grounds
The theme is that of an old New England style hotel and shares the Boardwalk Loop with other resorts so that means there’s not much difference between the Beach Club and the Yacht Club.
The Rooms
The rooms are light and airy and have a lot of beach accessories but really aren’t much different from most of the rooms in this same area.
Activities
They offer pretty much the same activities as all the resorts on the Boardwalk Loop and guests can enjoy all the same things going on all over the Boardwalk Loop.
#8 Ranked Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
2022 Standard Room Rates – $763 to $1200 per night.
Theme & Grounds
Being the “Flagship” resort for Disney, it’s rated 8th because even though the theme is elegant and the grounds are nice, the price to stay there is far more than what you get. Most of the places to eat are indeed high class along with the prices. If you are looking for a theme that glitz and glamour of the Victorian age then this is for you.
The Rooms
The rooms are meant to represent the look and feel of Victorian but for the price it doesn’t quite pull it off.
Activities
Like all resorts there are lots of activities plus a fitness center and spa.
