The cabana bay is a relatively new onsite property and if you are looking at booking this as part of your universal Orlando holidays than this post on how far the cabana bay resort is from the parks will hopefully give you a better understanding as whether it’s location is an ideal option for you and your family when you come to visit.
If you are planning a trip to Orlando, Florida from the UK and are considering staying at the Cabana Bay Resort there, you may want to know how far is Cabana Bay Resort from Universal Studios? Knowing this and other helpful information will help make planning your trip a lot easier.
Access To Many Things
As soon as you arrive at the Cabana Bay Resort you’ll notice that it seems to be a resort that’s pretty much centralized so that you have easy access to a variety of exciting and fun things to do to see. You’ll discover quickly that this resort is located just south of “Islands of Adventure” and what they call “Hollywood Way” which is a four lane street that helps to separate the resort from the CityWalk and the theme parks. This resort, unlike some of the other resorts, does not use a waterway to get to other resorts and theme parks, instead they are close enough that you can actually walk or you can take a shuttle bus. The reason why it’s so easy to get there is because it’s only 1.7 miles from the resort to Universal Studios.
Shuttle Buses To The Theme Parks
One really good thing about Universal is that they’ve established a nice network of resort shuttle buses that continuously run between their resorts and all of the Universal parking garages. These shuttles are all ADA compatible, and they all operate from one hour the “Early Park Admission” which actually starts 2 AM every day.
There’s one shuttle pick-up spot at the Cabana Bay Resort, you’ll find this pick-up close to the lobby and the other one is right next to the Bayliner Diner and the actual trip takes only about five to eight minutes.
Generally, the shuttle system works quite well, however, you do need to realize that during the peak times, when you want to go back to the resort from Universal will often take somewhat longer than it did on your trip to the theme parks. This is because the Cabana Bay often will share their buses with the Aventura Hotel near by.
The Garden Walkway
If you don’t want to spend time on a shuttle to get to the theme parks, you can easily walk by taking the Garden Walkway. This path takes you past the Sapphire Falls and Royal Pacific resorts and then onto the side entrance of Universal’s “CityWalk”, which is close to “Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville.” Then the Garden Bridge and Garden Walkway connects at these two intersection points and offers you a really enjoyable alternative to riding the shuttle buses.
However, the timing of this great walk can be a bit tricky, this is because it is going to depend on where exactly your resort room is at on the Cabana Bay property. But, once you do exit the resort from the northeast corner, this walk will take you about fifteen to twenty minutes, the length of time depends on the person walking it. If you are walking to the entrance of Universal Studios you will want to add at least another seven minutes to your overall walking time.
Even though the walkway is great, a lot of people will still recommend the bus shuttles during most times of the day because they do still get you there faster. However, the walkway does take you straight through to the security checkpoint that’s located by Margaritaville and this checkpoint is often far less crowded than the main one where the buses drop guests off at. Plus, at peak times of the year, you might want to take the walkway back to your resort because even the walk will take less time than the buses.
If you are interested in seeing the Royal Pacific Resort and all it’s beauty then you more than likely will really enjoy the Garden Walkway. You can also walk from Cabana Bay Resort to the Royal Pacific water taxi dock, then you’ll be able to take their water taxi to locations you want to go, or you can choose to walk directly to the CityWalk where you’ll find all kinds of entertainment, shopping and great dining.
Getting To Volcano Bay
If you’re a guest of the Cabana Bay Resort you have your own private pathway straight to Volcano Bay. Unlike all the other resorts in the area, by staying at Cabana Bay, or the Aventura you don’t have to take a shuttle bus to get to the water park called Volcano Bay this is because both of these resorts have their own private entrances to the water park and they’re located just past the two towers in the South Courtyard that’s right alongside this water theme park. The private pathway will get you to Volcano Bay far faster than any other route.
How To Get Aquatica And Seaworld
By being guests at any of the Universal resorts you can take advantage of some perks like complimentary transportation that is scheduled, called the “Connector Shuttle” to both Aquatica (SeaWorlds water park) and SeaWorld. It’s called “scheduled” because it’s very important to realize that the buses don’t run on a continuous schedule, instead, the buses pick up and drop off one time in the morning and one time in the evening. You should ask the front desk of your resort what these times are.
